Spring Has Come

Spring is such an amazing season. Everything that was dead springs to life again. I was sitting outside and all I kept seeing were these white, fluffy things that are blown off of dandelions just floating around. Some of you may know that these fluffy things are actually seeds of a flower. When they get blown off of the dandelion stem, they travel in the wind and land in different spots and begin to grow into a flower. Incredible isn’t it? Something as simple as the wind and a seed can cause flowers to bloom in different spots. In the song “So Will I” by Hillsong United, one of the lines says, “If the wind goes where you send it, so will I.” These seeds are being blown all over the place and have no control over where they land, but they freely float and follow where the wind blows them.

My family and I are like these seeds. We have given all we have to God, we’ve trusted Him, and we are willing to land wherever God blows us. For seven years, we have been freely floating and patiently waiting for God to plant us somewhere where we can grow and tell others about God. He has given us a place to land and that place is Granada, Nicaragua.

As Christians we need to be the seeds that are surrendered to go anywhere God blows us. When we become these seeds we can bring a dead, wintry soul into a live blossoming, spring heart. I love Spring because as a believer we celebrate the life, death, and resurrection of Jesus! Because of His amazing resurrection, we receive a seed that can make us alive with Christ and gives us an endless amount of love, grace, and forgiveness. So who today will answer the call to live in complete surrender and to take the challenge of being willing to blow anywhere God calls?

Be the seed, even when the wind blows too hard, difficult circumstances arise, or when you are in a place of waiting or of uncertainty; because you never know where God will lead you and what will be planted.
