Facing Fear

There are many stories in the Bible about amazing individuals who did amazing things for God in the face of fear. David faced Goliath and enemy armies who wanted to attack, Moses faced Pharaoh in Egypt, and Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego faced the blazing furnace and King Nebuchadnezzar. Whenever these individuals faced fear or the threat of fear, they turned to God and trusted in Him no matter what. Shadrach, Meshach, Abednego, walked through the fire, literally, and was not even burnt because they did not let fear hinder them from God’s special plan on their lives. David trusted God against Goliath and enemy armies that waged war, but even during the toughest battles, David’s trust never wavered, and he laid everything in the hands of God. Even when Moses faced Pharoah, he did not let fear overpower his love and trust in God. Overtime God has proved himself over and over throughout the Bible so, who says that He cannot take away your fears during times of struggle and replace fear with faith and peace? God is greater than fear. We all will face fear at some point in our lives, but it is how we handle the fear that effects our impact on the Kingdom of God and God’s call on our lives. When we go through tough and uncertain times, we do not need to let anxiety, fear, doubt, worry, or stress creep in because God is greater than anything we might face. In the song “Frontiers” by Vertical Worship, one of my favorite lines is “You have overcome my deepest fears, with your love, with your love.” We can overcome our fears but not alone, only by the love and help of God. God is GREATER no matter the struggle, fear, doubt, or stress, GOD WAS GREATER! GOD IS GREATER! GOD WILL BE GREATER!
